According to the October 2006 issue of
Tierra Grande, the Journal of the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University, "In percentage terms, population growth in several small Texas communities is nothing short of remarkable." Among the fastest-growing Texas suburban towns, it ranked Manor as #2, with an astounding 61.3% growth from 2004-2005.
This dramatic population increase is due to its location in close proximity to several global high tech firms including Applied Materials, Motorola and Samsung. The arrival in the area of numerous major high tech firms provides good employment opportunities for workers which places the median household income of
Manor above that of communities of similar size while the cost of living in
Manor is 24% lower than the U.S. average.
